RCC organized a protest in the Plaza of the Americas in downtown Chicago.
The demonstration was attended by hundred of people. Various leader of the community such as Congresswoman Schakowsky, Professor Azeem Ibrahim, Turkish General Consul Umut Acar, and representatives of CAIR, CIOGC, and RCC spoke at the event.
RCC of the community, including women and children, recounted their experiences living under the Burmese regime and their journeys to the United States. Journalists were present and the event received broad media coverage.
