Eid al Fitr celebration

Eid al Fitr celebration was held for the community with gifts for the children donated by Zakat Foundation. Eid prayer was held at the Center for 200+ attendees.

Eid al Adha Celebration

Eid al Adha Celebration was held at RCC. Eid prayers were held and food was prepared onsite at RCC for 200+ people. In accordance with Muslim custom of giving meat to the needy on this holiday, packets of meat were distributed to almost 150 people in Chicago. In addition, RCC raised funds for cows to be slaughtered in Myanmar for the poor there. In Arakan, RCC fed hundreds of destitute families and provided them with meat, some who had not had meat in years.

RCC was invited to attend US Global Leadership Coalition foreign policy lunch at Intercontinental Chicago hotel. We met with Senator Durbin personally, and spoke about the persecution in Burma, and the presence of RCC.

RCC held a demonstration on Devon Ave to raise awareness of persecution of Rohingya in Burma. Attended by 150 people.

RCC held a demonstration at the Presidential Plaza in downtown Chicago to raise awareness of persecution of Rohingya in Burma. Attended by over 200 people. There was notable media presence.

400 Blankets and shoes were distributed by RCC to the community.

RCC held a its first anniversary celebration

RCC held its first anniversary celebration. Over 300 people attended. Several prominent people spoke on the effect RCC has had on the community, and its importance. Volunteers were honoured.

RCC had a booth at the ISNA conference sponsored by the Zakat Foundation. The booth was a success with hundred of people coming by to learn about the work done at the center and donating.

Great turnout for RCC softball tournament organized by volunteer Zayd Ather. Eight teams competed with proceeds going to RCC.

The demonstration was attended by hundred of people. Various leader of the community such as Congresswoman Schakowsky, Professor Azeem Ibrahim, Turkish General Consul Umut Acar, and representatives of CAIR, CIOGC, and RCC spoke at the event.
